   My name is Paul Gibson and I am an Illinois licensed Home Inspector (since 2003) here to serve you. Lic # 450-000895

I offer Rockford Home Inspections, Belvidere Home Inspections, Freeport Home Inspections and all of the surrounding towns.

I worked under the HARMONY HOME INSPECTORS name for several years in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago until the owner decided to move on to different challenges at which time I went out on my own.

My edge is my experience with home building and renovations. Renovating homes gives me an extraordinary amount of knowledge because I have to tear into the guts of a house and I need to understand everything I find so that I can repair or replace what problem items that I might find. My personal home for 27+ years was over 130 years old. When I was finished renovating that home it was like a new home. The only evidence that it was old was the stone foundation and the low basement ceiling.

My current home at Lake Summerset was built by me and my family and I put in many upgrades like a central vacuum system,

circulating hot water (that gives me instant hot water at any faucet in the house), in-floor radiant heat in the lower level (that is very comfortable), in-floor heat for the master bathroom (my wife loves me for that one), electric skylites and much more. These are all things that I do myself so I have to have a good working knowledge and understanding of how all of these things work. Building homes gives me the structual understanding that I must have. I am also very active in all of the electrical and plumbing projects in my renovations.

I am also required by Illinois Law (as well as all Licensed Home Inspectors) to earn continued education credits each year in order to keep my license current.

 

  I like to explain to my clients how things work and why something was installed the way that it was in the house that I am inspecting. I like to make sure you are educated as much as possible about the major purchase you are about to make.
